A two month outage

It's been 2 month since I last wrote a blog. In those 2 month I was busy putting my two booth on vacation notice, going on the actual vacation and then getting back into the real life of being OFF vacation. There were many things that went into doing all this.

To put my booths on vacation notice, I did promos, left messages in both of my booth at bonanzle and also in my store on eCrater. Then of course had to put a posting in general forum to "alert" that my booth will be closed.

I shut down earlier by a few days then I needed to so I could work in the background for when I open back up. I got ready for the shipping cost increase, for more items and for some traits and attribute add-ons.

Then I went on vacation for 3 weeks. And it was wonderful. No internet, no cell phones and only periodic calls to my "other" family to say I'm alright, having a great time. I went to see my family overseas and I always enjoy GETTING spoiled by my mother instead of having to spoil my kids and DH here in the U.S. What a change it was and what a great vacation by myself :)

Back on track......Once I got back to the U.S. and found my feet a few days later, I opened up my booths and my store. Of course it isn't like customers will beat down your door right away because your google feed will be empty and you kind of have fallen off the radar.

But now, almost 3 weeks after my vacation come back I'm open, have made myself known to be back and am ready to resume my booths and store operation. Google feeds up up and running, I sold 2 items within the last week while I was still not quite open all the way and that made me feel good.

My Scentsy booth is not selling as well right now but maybe because I favored Evesbooth more and left ScentsYouAreHere a little on the sideline.

I have 4 month to continue and then I will start all over again by going overseas again. This year and last year I have been lucky and got to go twice a year for 3 weeks each. Gotta make the most of your parents while one can because once I will no longer have them I will wish I could've seen them as much as possible.

So for now, I let my present be known and will work on a new blog in the near future for updates on....well.....updates!! :)

Update on Daily Specials

So far it seems that many people are interested enough to look at my daily specials. It is a new idea so it will take awhile until I can gage if it is a hit or a miss.

Right now I have 3 daily specials running in evesbooth and 3 in scentsyouareheres booth. Maybe I just want to up the ante to give everyone a good deal, or maybe I just think that many people are with their families for easter and online shopping is not top priority.

Regardless, the specials are up to 3 and tomorrow they could be up to 4 or I might change my mind and put everything back on the shelves and put a new item out for the special.

I also listen to my customers. One person has told me that they really liked my gold purse, ergo the purse went on sale. Just today I mentioned on the Bonanzle promo board that I will listen if anyone leaves me a message in my chat box. So you might find the item you have been looking for to go on sale, getting there a lot faster. So drop me, or ScentsYouAreHere, a line and you might be surprised.

Daily Specials

I am trialing a new version of advertising and promos. Everyday I pick one item out of each of my booth (evesbooth and ScentsYouAreHere) and put in a category marked "daily special" and mark down the items...sometimes up to 50%. Have been doing that for a few days, promo on the Bonanzle promo board once in the morning and again in the evening and also tweed it twice. I will see how this goes for about a week and if it's even worth it.

One has to try different things in this economy slum. :)

It's been awhile since I was posting anything on here. I've been busy with my booth and my new one, ScentsYouAreHere. In my new one I'm experimenting with soaps and I'm having so much fun. I've been coming up with some wacky colors, shapes and fragrances. A couple of my soaps I re-milled again since they did not come out like I wanted them to. Therefore, if anyone has been eyeing up any of them and they're no longer there, chances are they're either sold or have undergone "surgery" to come out looking better then before.

Look for more new soaps coming out in the next few days, some are dry enough to be put on the "selling block" and I will be posting them soon.

There is a lot of info on this page. You can also make comments to the various clips. I'm bookmarking this and make it my "homework" for everyday to read up on some of this tips. The one that I'm starting on is of course the big one....Keyword listing.......

Now that my items are in place in both of my booth I'm going on to the next step and try to find out the key to get my listing on the top of googles. So look for me on the top :)

Oh, there is mentioning of Bonanzle somewhere in all these write ups, but of course I did not find it yet since I just glance over it and opened the keyword listing and then had to "run" right over here to let everyone else know about this great site. I'm learning to tweet. And no, I'm not a bird :). Tweeting is fun. Its like an instant messenger and it keeps you in touch with many people. I think I like it but I fear that its going to be just as addicting as Bonanzle. Guess that will make me a Bonanzle AND a Tweeter Addict......Is there a cure? Well, I hope not :) And I get to change back and forth between this skin (evesbooth) and my "ScentsYouAreHere" skin. One I'm signed on to blogger (this one) and "Scentsy" is signed on to Twitter.

Now I'm off to Bonanzle land and also to tweet some more :)

Bonanzle land calling….Need Your Help!!

Honestly, where else do you wake up in the morning (or any time of day and night), log on to your selling site and see where the Founder has posted “Need Your Help, need your input….”. Only on Bonanzle of course. Well, it seems that Bill (founder) and Jordan (site “beautician”) have thought that our buying site needs to be a little beautified. And what they have posted as possibility of face lift looks pretty good so far. Of course I will NOT repeat the whole story on my blog here because I want everyone to click on this link and see for themselves ….(http://www.bonanzle.com/blogs)….and after you’ve done reading the blog and since you’re already in Bonanzle land, why not browse around some of the neat booths we have on here.

And further, why not check out our new and improved Forum site? Well, it will be more improved once us old dogs will learn the new tricks of where in the world everything is. This was a feature that had just been done during the day yesterday (Monday) because when I seen the forum in the morning it was the same as before. But in the evening I had to double look because it looked a little different. Now it looks as if everything could be a little more tidy and if everyone uses it correctly we shouldn’t have “promotions” or “games” end up in the “general” section. It takes a little getting used to since you had to weed through every new thread starting but you DID have the quick look-see of them all. Now you would have to click on the promotion and everyone promo their booth should be listed in there. Granted, it still pops out in “All” but if you now want to get into your general only you should not see all other types of threads in there. And again, that is if everyone is using them accordingly. I for one try, but again, what I think is a topic for “general” might not be what YOU think it should be.

Just take everything with a grain of salt and be happy that Bill, Mark, Jordan and everyone else in the background are running this great Bonanzle site and hopefully they will continue to be involved with us, the small sellers and not lose sight of us.

I am sad to announce........

That I had to close one of my booth at Bonanzle. Unfortunately time does not permit me to have as many booth as I'd really like to have. Still working full-time (thanking god for that), making and preparing some of my products for my ScentsYouAreHere booth, trying to round up items for my EvesBooth and get pictures and listing write up for both booth is very time consuming. My social life consists of Bonanzle forum and my working life around real work and bonanzle booths. Nothing against the forums, I love being a part of them. But lately it is more and more about....come check out my booth.....I have a 10% sale......and so on. Some of the real things are starting to drown. No, not all. There are some very informative postings. Such as Tom who is giving "lessons" in linking and giving some marketing tips, Steve who is promoting an off-site with linking back to Bonanzle, TMT announcements, "Todays Birthdays", and my all time favorite "Coffee anyone". This one seems to be the board that most check in when they come online early and we all have coffee together. There are a few posting that are very interesting also. But you DO have to weed through some of the other things.

So in light of my short hours in the day, I have decided to close down my EvesBooth2. This booth had many lookers but no buyers and since I was not stocking the items it was the easiest one to lock the door on. I still hated to do it since some of the items are really unique and I actually have a few things that I had bought outright to check out the quality and those items are now "sucked in" into my own home and I won't give them up......

The closing will take me a few days so I can update some of my booths and emails where I have linked everything together.

After that is done, I will re-think my priorities and maybe make a "10 step program". Sound like a Bonanzle BAA? Maybe....maybe because I am, and am proud to be one too.

Here is my spot to "trash talk" up my new found love. Bonanzle....my new found love.....the ease of the site....the great humor of Mark and Bill, gotta love those Bonanzle Boyz.....the ease to list and do just about any corrections. The updates that the Boyz let us know directly.....I could go on and on, but I'm going to cut Bonanzle time into my "real life work time" and that can't happen yet since so far Bonanzle sales doesn't support me well :) But there is hope yet!!

So stay tuned to my "10 step program" of becoming so deeply embedded in Bonanzle that you can NEVER leave :)

Bonanzle Marketplace Manages Growth

Just a little write up about the past and future of my beloved Bonanzle site. Ina Steiner from Auction Bytes summed up the interview with Bill just perfect. So take a look and if you haven't checked out Bonanzle yet, well......isn't it about time to see what all the hype is about?

Many Good Things are happening on Bonanzle

One party after another is going on.

The voting for best e-bay-alternative site has closed a couple of days ago. Everyone had the option of voting and I hope that Bonanzle will shoot to the top. The results will come out on January 28th I believe. Soonest its posted I will post it.

We have just hit 19,267 users on our Bonanzle site and growing every minute. There are 3,786 booth, some members having more than one, like me. 124 of those booth owners are plus or premier members. Not many by a long shot but still impressive enough for being less than a year young. I came onboard in September and was around 2,400 member. And NOW look at us.

In the meantime members have come up with great alternatives for drawing buyers to their booth. They do 10-15 minutes auctions and conduct them inside their booth chats. I have been to a couple of them but was making sure that it had items auctioning off that I wasn't interested enough to purchase. Or this could become quite expensive for me. It still was very exiting and I did had to focus a few times on the items so I was able to stop myself from bidding :)

Another thing we have going is our regular TMT. Tickle Me Tuesday. There is a sign up post where you list your booth address with a short promo. On Tuesdays at a specific start up and end time (I think its from 11 am through 10pm but don't quote me on that), you have to go and click on a minimum of 5 booth, check their stuff and tag at least one item. Then you copy the booth url and the item url you have tagged, put it in notebook until you've got all 5 of them and then submit your finds to the TMT email that is posted. Of course you can look and tag more booth if you want but you need to submit at least 5. And then of course, each week they draw a winner from the people that submitted links and you get a variety of prices that other Bonanzler have donated. I actually won last weeks TMT and I'm thrilled. I have won a great purse that CityChick had donated and even shipping is handled by the donater. It is a fun game once you have done it a couple of times and you can also find loads of great items. I guess that is the purpose :)

Now, so close to Superbowl, the TMT is a little revamped with football avatars and hidden items in booth and I'm not sure what else. To be honest, I have fun doing the regular one and have committed some time on Tuesday to doing just that, but I just don't know how I would find time in figuring out hiding icons in my booth, how to submit...and all the little steps that go with it. So in the meantime I'm just doing the regular one. But it is neat seing all these football icons browsing your booth. Makes you wanna grab a RoethlisBurger and a beer...Yes, I'm in Steeler country, how did ya guess.

There are much more little games going on that involves tagging, promoting and so on but that will have to wait for another time when I have more time to talk.

I'm learning, I'm happy, I'm just feeling the "love"..lol...

I have just learned to do some widgets, fix them and also install them. I have done one for each of my booth and they were going NOWHERE!! But this morning, instead of doing my regular routine (will elaborate on that one in a sec)...I went in fresh with a cup of coffee and looked at my widgets and what they are doing and what they are SUPPOSE to be doing. Well, they were doing...nothing.....and suppose to be doing something. So I figured it was time to crack the whip and get things in shape around here.

I fixed my widget EvesBooth, EvesBooth2 and ScentsYouAreHere. Look at them off to your right. Cool hu :)

I'm still figuring out some minor details...and I hope they're minor on those. I'm trying to figure out all the things they could do, where I could put them and how I can chainlink them to me, my booth, my body :)....... and whatever else I'm into :) Actually, this blog is the only one I maintain. I have squidoo but hey, one can only talk so many times a day. And boy, I talk alot. So my main focus will be this blogspot.

As my regular routine.....get up... start coffee....start pc......do, well, the humanly thing....get coffee, sign on to Bonanzle.....check stats on all 3 booth and tally in my record and then........head over to the forum. And thats where you should find me until it's time for me to get ready for work :)

So anyone that reads my boring blog on this and wants to elaborate on my shortcoming, forthcoming, and whatever else you might want to tell me ....feel free...I have open ears, open eyes and able typing hands :) So chat me up wouldcha.......

New Years Eve had been a busy one. I was "cooking" soap...yes, not food or snacks, but soaps. I was experimenting, smelling, cutting, dicing....sending off my boys to shower with some samples and I was just having a blast.

Finally my boys decided that they took enough showers and they really wanted to have fun with their girls and other friends and left me to my soapy messes. No matter, I was in my glory.

After I had things poured for the last time and cleaned up a bit it was almost 9 pm. Woahhh...where did the time go? I remember when I used to be at a party at that time, and here I was just getting ready to settle in my lazyboy after a day of smelling all kind of good and not so good things.

My BH finally decided that we should just pop the cork early and maybe we'll get a 2nd wind and be able to hang on until the New Year starts.....wrong!!!! We drank our bottle and by 10:30 we decided to go to bed and watch a bit of TV. Well, that was more like watching through our eyelids because next time I opened my eyes it was 5 am.

Ahhhaaa....A New Year has arrived and with it lots of plans, dreams and most of all WORK!!!!

No matter, 1st thing in the morning I'm always up for a challenge, not saying much about later on in the day though. But this day went well. Cooking, yes real food for a change, and eating, cleaning, socializing...I do that too sometimes.....BONANZLING....of course I do that ALL the times :)...and finally my soapy creations. After I bagged, weight, wrote, thought, rethought...I finally listed. Wow, I think I did pretty good in that department and have to say, I'm proud of myself. Of course, just like everything else, it'll get better and better each time.

So for now I close, its coming up on 8:30 pm again, which must be my witching hour....and I think the lazyboy is calling me, right alongside with my scarf I'm knitting and the blanket I'm looming....And as I'm signing off for the day, I have soaps and New Years dreams dancing in my head. And off I go and wishing everyone a Happy, happy New Years.

And here is another great "input" from our own...Bill. The guy that just keeps on ticking and ticking. I have a good feeling about what is coming up for 2009. Just look at how much has been accomplished in the 6 month that Bonanzle has been created.

It gives me enough confidence to have opened a 2nd booth called EvesBooth2, and now I am working on a 3rd one called ScentsYouAreHere. The 3rd one is progress in the works. I do not even have the profile fixed yet but there are a few items on the shelf. And if anyone is guessing that it has to do with smelly stuff..you are right. I'm starting with mainly soaps and some little fragrance oils. Later I want to do candles. Being a big lover of stuff that "smells" good, I think I will enjoy this store the most. Right now I have a couple of different soaps in the works, meaning I found someone that can make it but it has to "cure". Wish I could make my own, but when I look at some of the ingredients and how to, it just starts to scare me. I think the word lye does it to me every time. And having a new kitchen, I'm not sure I want to really start making a mess in there that could possibly result in burn holes, spills and whatever else could happen :). So for now I will let someone else make the mess and I will reap the smell.......

More stuff, more items on Bonanzle

I'm so exited, or maybe I'm just delusional. I purchase items from my supplier every so often to check to make sure that the quality of items are up to snuff. I actually list items in my evesbooth2, but everything that I purchase and have on hand I keep in my home store right here........Anyways, I got some stuff in today and wow, love it, smells so good. Got some fragrance oils that I'm dying to try out but won't just yet. I checked, inspected and definitely smelled them until I couldn't smell anymore. Some neat smells :) . Of course, like most girls I love candles and I love margaritas. So 2 of my new candles have the margerita smell. Maybe I'll buy one for me to keep. The Soaps, wow the soaps, 2 different brands, but as I sit here and just finished posting and now blogging, I can smell these candles and I feel like I'm in a clean tropical place. Maybe I AM delusional :).

Oh why, oh why can't I have lots of money and just buy, buy, buy. I think I would surround myself with so many pretty things I've been finding on Bonanzle. And while I still have scents, I mean sense, I will end this short blog for this evening. Just had to share my little "find" story.

Bonanzle is in the news again

Oh how exiting this is. Everytime Bonanzle is in the news it will bring people to check out the site. I remember when I watched on TV a show about the one big site that I don't think I need to mention on here. This site invited a few highend sellers to a brainstorming session. After the session and when they walked outside there were reporters who caught some of those sellers for interviews. I'll never forget this one person that dropped a name where she is doing alternate selling. I thought to myself.......hmmmm....shes selling on the "big" site, went to the session and then dropped another name?!?! That was interesting to me and I went and looked for this site. Low and behold, it was NOT a bad site and I signed up right away, moved all my items there and got involved in the community heavily. A few of my items sold and I was feeling the power. Then all of a sudden my site was being "reviewed" right alongside with others and there was NO explanation on reason why. Long story short....the site started to fall apart. It seemed the community was afraid to say boo so they site wouldn't review them and temp shut them down. The sellers started to come from other countries and started to sell bootleg items, arrrgggg...., and the sales started to drop off totally. Just right about that time I was browsing in a blog and someone stated Bonanzle. Oh well I thought, why not....So I came here and have been watching it grow....me growing with it.....and am very happy when I find out that WE made the news again :)

Secret Santas everywhere

~~~Bonanzle Bells, Bonanzle Bells, Bonanzle all the way, o how fun it is to ride on the Bonanzle Bozys' site all day~~~

This site gets you in the spirit whether you originally was not, or you already were in the middle of getting the x-mas feeling. And I tell you why............

I had not even thought about it, but one day I was contacted by a buyer who asked me if I could send an item he purchased to another address. The reason the buyer gave was that he wanted to make this a christmas gift to someone that has touched his giving christmas spirit. This person had in her wishlist an item that he wanted to get for her. Of course I accommodated and the seller, receiver and myself we had a very fuzzy, warm feeling.

The receiver posted on the forum a great thank you for her secret santa and lo and behold, all of a sudden some other receivers of secret santa gifts came out in the open.

It was so wonderful to read how some people got some little gifts and it made their christmas. And that is what Christmas is all about.

But the story doesn't end here.

I am proud owner of a secret Santa gift myself. My husband brought mail yesterday but I had been very sick for almost a week to even really wanted to shuffle through it. And this morning I was doing my regular routine (shower.....coffee....bonanzle to check my stores and then drink coffee with my bonanzle friends...lol...). And there on the table was a letter addressed to me. Return address didn't look familiar. So I opened the letter and in there was a note with a couple of small packs that I had in my wishlist at my bonanzle booth. The note stated that this was a present from a secret santa to me with a free sample to match from the seller. I just stood there and can't even describe how I felt at the moment. I think if someone would've given me keys to a new car I wouldn't have been as exited as I was when I read this letter and seen my little packages. I felt blessed, I felt awed, I felt........Santa has made it to my house and he made it early. He made my day, he made my week. These little gifts I will remember and they will make me smile. And as always, it will make me think of Bonanzle and how it has turned my life around because we have such a great bonanzle family feel on there.

So stopping at this long winded blog, which my husband says I'm good at when I get on a roll, I want to wish everyone a very merry christmas.

Friday after Cyber Monday

Lol, what a title. I had many, many window shoppers. But thats ok. It seems that the word is getting out about Bonanzle. I just love signing on to my booth, find out I had some commets in the chatbox, maybe sometimes emails and most of all the "good morning, how about some coffee" in the forum. That always makes me hop right over and see what the community is up to. Sometimes there was real funny things going on overnight, and other times there are numerous "Hi, I'm new" postings. Those makes me smile since I like to jump on the welcome wagon.

And the community is just great, everyone is looking out for each other. There are numerous people that promote, cross promote, include-you promote and so on. And I try to do that too but I'm just not so "savy" at this just yet. But I'm learning with baby steps.

And that brings me up to the great news, great lens that I had gotten. And I hope, posting it in here it'll show because it is a great lens. Makes me wish that someday I'll be as good :)

Cyber Monday

Ok, Cyber Monday is here and almost gone. Where is everyone? I can't wait until tomorrow morning to see my stats. Wondering if I had more people coming through as on a normal day. Had no buyers, not even with my already low prices and additional 10% off... well, guess I'll just sit tight, promote every day and see what happens. Many places that I promote to I get the message that I'm already signed up. Duuhh...I've done so many places, thought I kept good track of it, but still some are not in my "done this" list...oh well, I'm at Bonanzle for the long haul :)

Bonanzle is a new shopping site. Forget about ebay, amazon and overstock. Bonanzle has a great discussion board and there are many good things that are happening there.
